Caribana 2009 celebrates its 42nd anniversary, it is the largest Caribbean festival in North America. Presented by the Festival Management Committee, the three-week Festival attracts over a million participants annually, including hundreds of thousands of American tourists.

What is the parade route for Caribana 2009? The Caribana 2009 Parade begins at Exhibition Place and moves west along Lakeshore Boulevard. If you're heading for paid seating, take the 511 bus from Bathurst Station or the LRT from Union Station directly into Exhibition Place. Otherwise take the 29 bus south from Dufferin Station, the Lansdowne Express from Lansdowne Station or the Keele Express from Keele Station. (TTC info: 416-393-4636 or TTC's website.) The Lakeshore GOÂ train also stops at Exhibition Place.
When are the dates for Caribana 2009? Toronto Caribana 2009 starts on July 14th and finishes on August 2nd 2009. However, the main Caribana 2009 events are from Thursday July 31st 2009 to Sunday August 2nd, 2009. During this time, you can be assured, that you can enjoy great Food, Dance, Music, and the ultimate Caribbean Festival experiences in
beautiful Toronto. Caribana Toronto 2009 also is also host to some of of the biggest Nightclub Events.
If you are from out-of-town and plan on visiting Toronto to take part in the exciting Caribana 2009 festivities, you should do the following very soon
During Caribana 2009, Hotels and Accomodations become booked-up very quickly - and usually long before the actual Caribana festival. Make reservations as soon as possible for a Caribana hotel and/or other accommodations. If you plan on touring other parts of Toronto, you may want to check out the local transit system (TTC), Caribana car rental rates and bicycle rentals.

About Caribana: Caribana is a unique celebration of Caribbean culture that finds its roots in Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago.
Toronto's Caribana festival began in 1967 when the Canadian government asked the Caribbean community to get involved to help celebrate the Centennial year. It was organized by a group of ten Caribbean individuals living in Toronto. Their goal was to develop a platform to showcase the beauty, joy and music of Caribbean culture. Caribana weekend usually coincides with Simcoe Day (the first weekend in August), marking the abolishment of slavery in Upper Canada.
